MEDGAR & ANGELA SCOTT FOUNDATION
about us

The Medgar and Angela Scott Foundation is the philanthropic initiative of Angela Scott to give back to the Vicksburg community what the native town gave to her and her husband Medgar as youngsters. The city of Vicksburg community leaders, programs, sports, and educational activities were the catalysts to their aspirations and goals of pursuing a brighter future. Access to information and conversations with community leaders gave them knowledge, wisdom and facilitated decisions that propelled their lives individually and as a married couple. Medgar had a successful career as Vice President of Human Resources and Angela, as a successful Mechanical Engineering Manager. Their love for the Vicksburg community and their desire to make it a better place to live and work for its citizens, sparked the desire to start this 501c3 non-profit charity. Although Medgar and Angela moved away from Vicksburg in 1995, and Medgar passed away on November 27, 2020, it was always their desire to do something special in the Vicksburg community.
